Heradesign leads the way with clever acoustics

Heradesign from Knauf AMF Ceilings has been installed in a brand new school building that caters for pupils with complex special needs. The design is a single storey level access construction, enabling the children to move around independently, and benefit from modern classrooms and large communal spaces
Heradesign is very versatile and can be colour-matched to almost any colour including those from popular systems such as RAL, NCS or StoColor – in the case of the school, the panels are matched to their emblem. The organic, wood-wool woven surface of Heradesign complements the school’s textured timber sensory wall-mounted panels - helping to create a unified way-finding system.
The rafts are hung from the ceiling using suspension rods attached to timber joists in the corridor and concrete soffits in the reception area. To create the continuous, seamless-looking strips, the panels are fitted together using a DONN screw fix grid. The rafts allow daylight to pass into the open areas, while minimising unwanted solar glare.
